Aschaffenburg: A liveable city in a dynamic region


Aschaffenburg is a small city (2013 population 67,748) in northwest Bavaria bordering on the idyllic Spessart mountains. The river Main, an important inland waterway, flows through the city. Living costs are quite moderate by German standards, and the city is easy to get around in, whether on foot, by bicycle, or by bus.

How to get here


Aschaffenburg is located just 40 kilometres from Frankfurt, one of Europe’s main air hubs, making it easy to reach the area by plane. From Frankfurt or other European cities, it is easy to reach Aschaffenburg by train with the Deutsche Bahn network. The E41 highway also runs through Aschaffenburg for those travelling by car.
