Lisa Maria Engelke, Julia Günther and Monika Huber, undergradate students of international real estate management and business and law of Aschaffenburg University, respectively, have just started their semester abroad at Bangkok University (BU). All three exchange students learned more about the Thai partner university last year when Dr. Penjura Kanthawongs from BU was invited by Aschaffenburg University to come and teach in the Faculty of Business and Law. During the International Day she informed interested students and staff about study abroad opportunities at BU which enthused and convinced Lisa, Julia and Monika to apply for exchange places – all three with success. The partnership between the two universities was initiated by Prof. Dr. Alexandra Angress, Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences and Dr. Siriwan Ratakan, Vice President for International Affairs at BU two years ago when Prof. Angress was in Bangkok for an ASEM education meeting as national Higher Education representative for the German Ministry of Education and Federal Research/the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This month Thailand again hosted two ASEM related working meetings and Prof. Angress was back in Bangkok, meeting also her colleagues and exchange students on BU city campus.
