Mountains, ski tourism, beer, good air, safety and, above all, economic cooperation. Numerous renowned German companies such as Siemens and ThyssenKrupp have subsidiaries in Denver, and the German-US-American Chamber of Commerce is also very active there.

The Metropolitan State University in the capital of Colorado was founded in 1965 and is distinguished by its downtown campus with historic and modern buildings. Currently more than 20,000 students are enrolled.

During his visit to Aschaffenburg, Dr. Dickerson met the Vice President Prof. Dr. Eva Beck-Meuth and representatives of the Faculty of Business and Law for exploratory talks on a possible cooperation between the Business and Engineering Technology Schools of the Denver Metropolitan State University and the two faculties of the Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences. In addition to the exchange of students and lecturers, Dr. Dickerson also envisaged the arrangement of placements at German companies in Denver and concluded his stay with the words: "This was a very efficient visit".

Prof. Dr. Renate Link had established the contact to the Metropolitan State University in the Mile-High-City at the NAFSA 2016 Conference in Denver, which is exactly one mile above sea level.
